I gave this lecture to the International Council of Tanners at their meeting held the day before the Hong Kong Leather Fair in 1996. It was the last of the large meetings of the ICT that I have attended and the audience was truly global and very interesting. There were a lot of questions. The issue is really how to define and handle brands in a complex sector such as leather.
