These pages are where thiis web site began back in the 1990s. The manufacturing notes owe a debt to Stanley Briggs, my tutor at Leeds University, and are essentially a snapshot of my revision notes from the 1960s.

The other areas are a mix of the historical with the present going through places, people, trade marks etc.
