Trademarks

Over the next few years it is the intention to use this section to build a complete record of trade names which have been and are being used in the leather industry. It is an ambitious project and we ask you to send in names with details of the tannery, the country, the date of introduction, and a brief description following the pattern in the few already presented. Do not forget to send us the name itself. We will update the data from time to time and hopefully will be able to automate the process before too long.

Thus this section will be the first port of call to see if a name has been used. You need to remember that trade names are an important part of a companies intellectual property and most are trade marked, copyrighted or (especially in the US further protected by trade dress). The penalties can be severe for stealing someone else's name.

We put up details here in good faith and cannot accept responsibility for errors. If you see a name that you feel is here in error please let us know so we can correct it. If you wish to have a name added we are happy to receive submissions. Please email enquiries@mikeredwood.com.

Mostly this is intended to focus on leathers, but in the small new section below we will add chemicals as requested.
